The Mafia Island Marine Park, established in 1995, protects over 822 square kilometers of coral reefs, seagrass beds, and mangrove forests. The diving and snorkeling here are world-class, with visibility often exceeding 20 meters and an extraordinary diversity of marine life - from tiny nudibranches to massive whale sharks that visit between October and March.
Above water, Mafia offers deserted beaches fringed with coconut palms, traditional fishing villages where life moves at island pace, and some of the most spectacular sunsets you'll ever witness. This is the real, untouched Tanzania.
